Bed Styling
Bed styling might be one of my favorite things I get to do. I think part of the foundation of a bedroom design starts with the bed. It’s what makes a bedroom a place of rest and relaxation… Plus.. have you heard the statistics of how much of our life we spend in bed/sleeping? It’s a lot of time. So we want it to be a space that It feels cozy and inviting. But we also want it to look beautiful right? And all those layers, textures and colors can be kind-of intimidating. Then you add in pillow styling! And then we’re suppose to make it look effortless?? Anyways, I thought I would share some of ways I like to style a bed!
Contrast
This tip really applies to anything decor related. But here, It starts with the headboard. We have a dark wood headboard, so we contrasted it with light colored pillows. Then we added the darker blue pillows to match our color-story, and finished with the patterned lumbar to tie it all together. Big fan of mixing patterns over here!
Layers
Personally, I like a lot of layers. So often times I’ll do a duvet or quilt on the end, and then add a throw on top. It gives it that “effortless” beautiful layered look (we all know it isn’t all that effortless)
Pillows
I like to start with euro pillows to make it easy! You can honestly stick to that, maybe a third pillow, like a larger lumbar. Depending on your bed-size I would generally do three for a king-size bed, and two for a queen-size bed. This works almost every time. If you want a more simple look just stick with the euros!
Switch it up with lighter colors and linen textures for spring for a refresh! As always, message me anytime if your stuck!
